On February 25, 1987, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that neither the state of California nor Riverside County could regulate the bingo and card game operations of the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. California v. Cabazon Band of Mission Indians set in motion a series of federal and state actions-including two ballot propositions-that dramatically expanded tribal casino operations in California and other states.[3] In 1995, a new building was constructed for the bingo and card games, and slot machines were introduced. The new casino was called Casino Morongo and included a dance hall, bowling alley, and diner.[4]
California Proposition 1A, also known as the Gambling on Tribal Lands Amendment, was on the March 7, 2000, ballot in California, where it was approved with a 64% win. It authorized the governor to negotiate compacts with federally recognized Indian tribes on Indian lands in California to operate slot machines, lotteries and banking and percentage card games, subject to legislative ratification.[5]
The Jerde Partnership announced the official groundbreaking for the Morongo Hotel on May 28, 2003. Perini Building Company topped-out the resort on March 31, 2004. Upon entering the casino, guests see a contemporary, retro-1960s interior. Light coves between overhead vaults, back-lit fabric draped between frames, and conically shaped light fixtures create a complex, ornate ceiling above the casino floor.

A slightly different metal string, called production tubing, is often used without cement inside the final casing string of a well to contain production fluids and convey them to the surface from an underground reservoir.Design[edit]
In the planning stages of a well, a drilling engineer, usually with input from geologists and others, will pick strategic depths at which the hole will need to be cased in order for drilling to reach the desired total depth. This decision is often based on subsurface data such as formation pressures and strengths, well integrity,[4] and is balanced against the cost objectives and desired drilling strategy.[2]
With the casing set depths determined, hole sizes and casing sizes must follow. The hole drilled for each casing string must be large enough to accommodate the casing to be placed inside it, allowing room for cement between the outside of that casing and the hole. Also, subsequent bits that will continue drilling obviously must pass through existing casing strings. Thus, each casing string will have a subsequently smaller diameter. The inside diameter of the final casing string (or penultimate one in some instances of a liner completion) must accommodate the production tubing and associated hardware such as packers, gas lift mandrels and subsurface safety valves.
Casing design for each size of designed pipes is done by calculating the worst conditions that may be faced during drilling and over the producing life of the well. Mechanical properties such as longitudinal tensile strength, and burst and collapse resistance (calculated considering biaxial effects of axial and hoop stresses), must be sufficient at various depths. Pipe of differing strengths often comprises a long casing string, which typically will have the greatest axial tension and perhaps highest internal burst pressure differentials in the upper parts, and the greatest collapsing loads deeper in the well from external pressure vs lowered internal pressure.7 Casing Data Software
Casing strings are supported by casing hangers that are set in the wellhead, which later will be topped with the Christmas tree. The lower members of the wellhead usually are installed on top of the first casing string after it has been cemented in place.Intervals[edit]
Typically, a well contains multiple intervals of casing successively placed within the previous casing run.[2] The following casing intervals are typically used in an oil or gas well:

*Intermediate casing (optional)
*Production casing
*Production liner
The conductor casing serves as a support during drilling operations, to flowback returns during drilling and cementing of the surface casing, and to prevent collapse of the loose soil near the surface. It can normally vary from sizes such as 18’ to 30’.[5]
The purpose of surface casing is to isolate freshwater zones so that they are not contaminated during drilling and completion. Surface casing is the most strictly regulated due to these environmental concerns, which can include regulation of casing depth and cement quality. A typical size of surface casing is 13⅜ inches.[5]
Intermediate casing may be necessary on longer drilling intervals where necessary drilling mud weight to prevent blowouts may cause a hydrostatic pressure that can fracture shallower or deeper formations. Casing placement is selected so that the hydrostatic pressure of the drilling fluid remains at a pressure level that is between formation pore pressures and fracture pressures.[6][5]
In order to reduce cost, a liner may be used which extends just above the shoe (bottom) of the previous casing interval and hung off downhole rather than at the surface. It may typically be 7’, although many liners match the diameter of the production tubing.[5]
Few wells actually produce through casing, since producing fluids can corrode steel or form deposits such as asphaltenes or paraffin waxes and the larger diameter can make flow unstable. Production tubing is therefore installed inside the last casing string and the tubing annulus is usually sealed at the bottom of the tubing by a packer. Tubing is easier to remove for maintenance, replacement, or for various types of workover operations. It is significantly lighter than casing and does not require a drilling rig to run in and out of hole; smaller ’service rigs’ are used for this purpose.Cementing[edit]
Cementing is performed by circulating a cement slurry through the inside of the casing and out into the annulus through the casing shoe at the bottom of the casing string. In order to precisely place the cement slurry at a required interval on the outside of the casing, a plug is pumped with a displacement fluid behind the cement slurry column, which ’bumps’ in the casing shoe and prevents further flow of fluid through the shoe. This bump can be seen at surface as a pressure spike at the cement pump. To prevent the cement from flowing back into the inside of the casing, a float collar above the casing shoe acts as a check valve and prevents fluid from flowing up through the shoe from the annulus.Casing Wear[edit]
A prolonged, recurrent axial and rotational movement within casing would cause wear to the casing interior, with the probability of blowouts, production loss, and other hazardous and costly complications.

Dealers Choice Casinos is able and would be happy to assist you with the planning of the details for your event. Listed below are several important items to keep in mind when planning your Casino Night or Casino Party.
Number of Guests
The number of guests for the event will determine the number of gaming tables necessary which, in turn, dictates the amount of space required. It is also possible to work backwards, from the amount of space you have. This means that the amount of space at the venue would relate to the number and size of tables that you can have at your event. That will also give you the maximum number of guests that can be entertained at your event or party.
Gaming Tables
On average, between 65%-75% of your guests will be playing at a gaming table during any given period of time during your party. Therefore, if you are planning a party with 200 guests it is typical to provide enough gaming tables to support between 130 and 150 players. Additionally, you need to consider the types of gaming tables your guests would like at your party. Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and Texas Hold’em are the 4 most popular casino games. Space Required
Dealers Choice Casinos will gladly visit your party location during the planning stages to determine the number of tables and layout of the tables given the allotted space.
Time needed for the event
A typical Casino Party lasts approximately 4 hours, but we would be happy to tailor it to fit your needs. Usually, the gaming tables are open for a 3 hour period. Normally, a half hour prior to the tables opening is designated for the guests to socialize with one another. At the start of the gaming event, the dealers can provide instructions to those guests interested in learning how to play any of the games. (See Playing the Games for the rules and strategies for games offered by Dealers Choice Casinos.) After the gaming tables close, anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour is necessary for the host or organizer to distribute the event’s prizes and awards.
The night of the Event
Upon arrival each guest receives a predetermined amount of “Fun Bucks”, typically $500 – $1000. The “Fun Bucks” can be exchanged at any of the gaming tables for casino chips. Guests play at the gaming tables for the allotted period of time of your event. During the evening, guests may optionally be given/purchase additional “Fun Bucks” if available. At the conclusion of the gaming portion of the party, guests will redeem (e.g. “cash in”) all remaining Fun Bucks and casino chips for vouchers. Prizes and awards are distributed either by raffle or auction by the customer. Dealers Choice Casinos can not assist with handing out any prizes at the event.
Fundraising

Prizes
It is left to the host/organizer to supply the awards and prizes for the event. The Dealers Choice Casino Staff will be happy to assist in providing information for distribution but can not assist with the distribution of the prizes given out either by raffle, auction, or other means.

Derek Stevens, owner of The D, Golden Gate and the under-construction Circa Las Vegas, gave away 2,000 flights to Las Vegas to help kick-start visitation and support airline travel following the COVID-19 shutdown.
Derek Stevens has announced plans to reopen his Downtown Las Vegas properties, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino and he will give away 1,700 free flights to. To help jump-start Las Vegas’ tourist industry, a casino owner in Las Vegas is giving away 1,000 free flights to the city. Derek Stevens is the owner of The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, both on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. He announced plans earlier this week to give away one-way flights from several U.S.

Stevens initially offered up 1,000 free flights on May 27, 2020, but those were snatched up within a couple of hours. Another 1,000 flights were made available later in the day. Travelers grabbed those almost immediately as well.
Derek Stevens made it clear those who took advantage of the free flights did not have to stay at his Las Vegas casinos, although many booked rooms at The D and Golden Gate.

Roger Federer returns to one of his happiest hunting grounds this week at the Swiss Indoors Basel, where he’s not only a nine-time champion, but also on an incredible 20-match winning streak.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion was born in Basel and used to be a ball kid at the event.
“It’s very difficult to explain what it feels like to play in Basel,” he said. “Just walking out for a final in Basel was always my dream—even playing on center court for the qualies was a thrill 21 years ago.
“When the trophy ceremony’s starting and the ball kids walk out, I remember being in their shoes, and me walking out. I give them all a medal and thank them for their efforts, and I feel like I’m looking at myself in some ways, when Wayne Ferreira and other great players gave me my first medal here. To come through and win here in my hometown always means a lot to me. It’s very emotional.”

He’s done a lot of winning in his hometown, capturing nine titles in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 and making another five finals in 2000, 2001, 2009, 2012 and 2013. He’s reached the final the last 12 times he’s played the event, and in 14 of 18 overall appearances, too.
He has a 71-9 career record at the ATP 500-level event and he’s 20-0 over the last five years, his last loss coming against Juan Martin del Potro in the 2013 final. He missed the 2016 event with a knee injury.
If Federer goes on to win Basel for the 10th time, it’ll be the second event he’s won 10 or more times—he won Halle for the 10th time this year. He’s one of only two men in the Open era to win the same event 10 or more times (Rafael Nadal’s done it at Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Roland Garros).

There’s one major milestone he’ll reach just by stepping onto the court for his opening match: Federer’s first-round match in Basel will be his 1,500th career match, making him the second man in the Open Era to play 1,500 or more tour-level matches (Jimmy Connors played 1,556). Federer has a 1,231-268 career record, while Connors finished with a 1,274-282 career record.
The Swiss will open against a yet-to-be-determined qualifier on Monday night. The world No. 3 is the top seed and one of four Top-10 players in the field. He could play fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals and world No. 7 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals, while No. Vpa online. 6 Alexander Zverev and No. 10 Roberto Bautista Agut are in the bottom half of the draw.

Live! is also teaming up with FanDuel Sportsbook, the NJ sports betting market leader. Sure, the majority of wagering is done va the mobile app, but adding a retail component that is a short drive away for many South Jersey residents could quickly become a major draw.
Besides being the Garden State’s top mobile operator, FanDuel runs NJ’s top performing retail sportsbook out of the Meadowlands Racetrack. In 2020 alone, the license holder led the state with $22.5 million in retail revenue.
The key is building something that will attract the sports viewing and wagering crowd. Live! is partnering with FanDuel because “they’re biggest, they’re the best, they’re the most reputable.”
Maesano said it’s “really a marriage made in heaven, and really adds value to our asset, to have FanDuel on property, especially with the [four Philly pro sports] teams right outside.”
There are 30-plus FanDuel-branded kiosks located throughout Live! Casino & Hotel. However, customers will find the sports betting experience blended with dining and entertainment inside of Sports & Social.

So while there is plenty of buzz surrounding Live!, opening in 2021 comes with its share of challenges.
Like New Jersey, Pennsylvania casinos are required to follow state protocols regarding the number of guests allowed on the casino floor and inside restaurants.

With a return to in-person learning at middle and high schools across Vermont comes a return to Winter sports. Please read the latest protocols and regulations governing Winter sports from the Vermont Principals Association here: VPA COVID19 Guidelines Winter 20-21
The VPA has no decision on the postponement or cancellation of any spring sports at this time. “We will be in contact with school officials, health officials and athletic directors regarding the most reasonable and safe path forward regarding spring sports and any additional VPA hosted or monitored gatherings this spring,” the VPA said in. RUHS Bass Fishing Team Returns to the Podium
The RUHS Bass Fishing Team returned to the podium this past Saturday, October 3d, taking home the Vermont runner-up award at the VPA Bass Fishing State Championships on Lake Champlain.
In the three years the VPA has held this championship, the RU team has gotten pretty comfortable on the winner’s podium, as they have finished in 1st or 2nd place in all three competitions.

This year’s derby featured the largest field yet with 18 schools competing. RU’s team reeled in 6 fish totaling a weight of 18.74 lbs, beating out 3rd place Essex whose 6 fish totaled 18.67 lbs, but falling short of White River Valley’s total of 22.93 lbs.
This year’s anglers were Chase Martin and Brendan Vinton, with Anthony Vinton serving as boat captain during the competition. Also on the team were Blake Baker, Joey Ferris, and Landon Campbell.
About RU Athletics Athletics are an important component of the RUHS experience and its athletic programs are designed to help students develop sportsmanship, school spirit, and good physical health. Because of the wide range of athletic programs offered at the school, students are provided with the opportunity to work towards excellence in several areas of athletic interest. RUHS athletes play in the Northern Vermont Athletic Conference.
